March for Life2027

A planning guide for Champion chapters joining us in Washington, D.C. — to stand for life, and to meet fellow Champions for Religious Liberty face to face.

An Invitation 01 — Welcome

Stand for life in the nation’s capital.

Join your fellow Champions in Washington, D.C., for the 2027 National March for Life — Friday, January 22.

This guide will help your Champion chapter consider, plan, and budget a trip to the National March for Life. We’ll be there in force — marching for life, and gathering as a network of citizens, pastors, and educators who stand together for religious liberty.

The date is no accident. The March is held each year near January 22 — the day in 1973 the Supreme Court handed down Roe v. Wade. We march in hope, in prayer, and in witness.

  • 25 miles from Dulles (IAD)

  • Watch the deadlines — rooms fill fast, and there are separate booking dates for individuals vs. groups. We’ll highlight those dates for you.

  • Other D.C. hotels (there are many)
  • Airbnb rentals
  • Staying with friends in the area
  • Sharing rooms to split the cost

On the day of the March

  • A list of prohibited items will be provided (we’ll share the current one as a guide).
  • Plan ahead for bathroom access and check-in wristbands.

Getting There & Eating 04 — Travel & Meals

Getting to D.C. — and getting fed.

Transportation

All travel to and from where you live is your own expense.

Flying in

  • Reagan National (DCA) — Crystal City, VA; just 5 miles from downtown.
  • Dulles (IAD) — Dulles, VA; an easy 25-mile drive in.

Getting around

  • Taxis / rideshare (Uber, Lyft) are cheapest — especially from Reagan National.
  • Renting a car is not recommended: parking runs $30–$40/day at hotels and is tough in the city.
  • The Metro is the easiest way around. For the March, ride to Federal Triangle, Smithsonian, or Metro Center — all an easy walk to the rally.
  • Charter buses work too (permits required); park at Union Station or the Basilica of the National Shrine.

Meals

  • Thursday dinner is free — provided at the Museum of the Bible.
  • Saturday breakfast at LCRL — coffee, juice, bagels & fruit, 9–11 a.m., for those touring the office.

On your own

Hotels all have restaurants, and there are diners and eateries all over the city. Eating out for every meal adds up fast.

Money-saving tip: small groceries around the city let you grab cold cuts, cheese, fruit, bread, and drinks for a couple of meals on the cheap.

The Rose Dinner Gala (optional)

5:30–9:30 p.m. after the March — a fundraiser for the March for Life organization. Reservations required; chapters often buy a table of 8.

A word to the wise: if you do the rally and the afternoon March, you’ll have been on your feet 4–6 hours. Some attend the morning rally, skip the March, and save their energy for the Gala. Attendees may be invited to give a one-time or monthly gift.

Young Professionals Reception

In 2026, March for Life launched Pour la Vie — a cocktail reception (ages 21–35) running alongside the Rose Dinner, with networking, light hors d’oeuvres, and an open bar (21+). 2026 time: 5:30–8:00 p.m. Reservation required.

Whether 2027 will host this (or something similar) is not yet confirmed.

Attire — it’s a D.C. January

It might be mild, but it’s often cold, rainy, or snowy. You may be packing just 2–3 days out, so watch the forecast. Bring:

  • Heavy coat
  • Hats & ear muffs
  • Gloves / mittens
  • Scarf
  • Warm socks
  • Comfortable walking shoes/boots
  • Hand warmers

The Champions Network will offer bright-colored hats & scarves — so we can spot each other in a sea of thousands. March for Life also has a merch store at shop.marchforlife.org.

What’s expected of us

  • Conduct ourselves in a respectful manner.
  • Leave no trash or signs on the street — find a trash can and dispose of items properly.
  • You may see counter-protesters. We advise not engaging. Ours is a peaceful witness — if you do engage, do so respectfully.
A peaceful, prayerful people.

How we carry ourselves is part of the witness.

Will you march with us?

See you in Washington.

Tell us you’re coming, and we’ll keep you posted on booking deadlines, the group hotel block, and our Champions gatherings. Bring your chapter — there’s strength in numbers, and joy in the company.
